Avero Advisory expands team, appointing Andy Currie as Senior Advisor
Avero Advisory is delighted to announce the appointment of Andy Currie as Senior Advisor. Andy brings one of the most distinguished track records in UK mid-market M&A, and his appointment reflects Avero's ambition to build a firm of genuine distinction in technology M&A.
Andy founded Catalyst Corporate Finance in 1998, growing it over 27 years into one of the most highly regarded mid-market M&A advisory businesses in the UK. Under his leadership, the firm developed an international network that underpinned numerous cross-border transactions and advised on many landmark deals. Catalyst later became the UK M&A arm of Alantra, where Andy served as UK Head of M&A.
Since stepping back from Alantra, Andy has drawn upon his expertise to provide strategic advice to high-growth privately owned and private equity-backed businesses. His recent advisory work includes the world-renowned architectural and design practice Foster + Partners, where he now serves as an Independent Director, and Matoke Holdings, a revolutionary Medtech business of which he is Chairman.
At Avero, Andy will work closely with founder Robert Young, both in guiding the business and advising on client transactions. His appointment strengthens a firm built on experience, relationships, and rigorous execution.
Robert Young, Founder of Avero Advisory, commented: “We are privileged to have someone with Andy’s level of experience joining the firm. Having worked closely with Andy for the last 12+ years, I have seen first-hand the exceptional advice and client service he delivers. I’m proud to have him on the team as another ‘industry veteran’ alongside Steve Currie (of no relation), our Chairman.”
Andy Currie added: "I’m really excited to work with Rob and the rest of the Avero team. I know best-in-class advisory when I see it, so it was an easy decision for me to join. I look forward to helping grow a business that puts the client first and delivers through a combination of deep sector insight, corporate finance nous and an empathetic understanding of the interplay between individual and corporate objectives."
